Catren Lamb
Third Grade Teacher
Catren Lamb is beginning her first year at Sperry Public Schools and brings approximately 13 years of experience in education. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Education and English and an MBA from the University of Tulsa, as well as a Master of Fine Arts in Writing for Children and Young Adults from Sierra Nevada College. Her educational experience includes Collinsville Public Schools, Owasso Public Schools, Union Public Schools, Tulsa Public Schools, University School at TU, and Tulsa Community College.
What she enjoys most about teaching is seeing the excitement when a student realizes they can do hard things—and do those difficult things well. Mrs. Lamb wants her students to be successful third graders, but even more importantly, she wants them to become successful people. She wants every student to know, “They can do it. They can do all the hard things—all the things they think they can’t do.”
Mrs. Lamb believes that every day is an opportunity to try again. If students don't get something today, they can try again tomorrow. She especially loves reading and sharing books with her students and strives to help them discover the joy that comes from reading and learning.
Outside of school, Mrs. Lamb enjoys reading, crocheting, and listening to live music. She loves the welcoming feeling of Sperry because it reminds her so much of the town where she grew up—Sperry feels like going home. She is also a huge Green Bay Packers fan and loves cheering on the Packers and watching football whenever she gets the chance. Go, Pack, Go!
