Sonya Jobe
Fourth Grade Science and Social Studies Teacher
Sonya Jobe has been part of education for 18 years, including the past 15 years at Sperry Public Schools. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Education from Northeastern State University and is certified in Early Elementary and Elementary Education. She began her teaching career at Oologah Public Schools.
What she enjoys most about teaching is seeing the “lightbulb moments” when a student finally understands a concept they may have struggled with. Mrs. Jobe believes that clear procedures and routines help create an organized and successful classroom, while also making sure students feel safe taking risks, asking questions, and making mistakes.
Mrs. Jobe wants her students to understand that learning is a journey and that growth and progress are worth celebrating. She encourages students to remember that they don't have to be perfect to be successful and that mistakes are an important part of learning.
Outside of school, Mrs. Jobe enjoys road-tripping with her husband and searching for what they call their “treasures.” They love exploring new places, visiting antique stores, and discovering unique things along the way. She also enjoys exercising, staying active, spending time outdoors, and enjoying time with her family. Her favorite thing about Sperry is the strong sense of community and the way people are always willing to step up and support one another. She is proud to be part of a community where people truly care about each other.
