Rebecca Ford
First Grade Teacher
Rebecca Ford is in her 10th year of teaching and her second year at Sperry Public Schools. She earned her undergraduate degree from Southern Nazarene University and her master’s degree from Northeastern State University. She is certified in Early Childhood Education and began her teaching career at Eugene Field Elementary in Tulsa Public Schools, where she taught for five years, followed by three years at Marrs Elementary in Skiatook.
What she enjoys most about teaching is seeing the expressions on her students’ faces when they learn something new and seeing how proud they are of themselves. Mrs. Ford also loves hearing her students’ stories and the creativity they bring to the classroom. She wants her students to know that their classroom is a family where everyone takes care of one another. She strives to create a warm and welcoming environment where students feel safe, respected, and encouraged to show kindness.
Mrs. Ford hopes her students leave her classroom knowing they were accepted, loved, and supported while developing the skills they need to feel successful. Most of all, she wants them to have fun while they learn and grow and to look back on their time in her classroom as a wonderful experience.
Outside of school, Mrs. Ford enjoys reading, going for coffee, and spending time with her friends. What she loves most about Sperry is the strong feeling of community and belonging. A fun fact about Mrs. Ford is that she sings!
