Room: 118
Text: Precalculus with Limits
Calculator: A TI–nspire will be provided for daily classroom use. A good online graphing calculator can be found at Desmos.
Course Description: The content covered in this course is precalculus, which includes trigonometry, trigonometric relations, trigonometric identities, functions and their graphs, composite and inverse functions, and probability and statistics. It foreshadows the calculus curriculum. This course emphasizes learning how to think mathematically and develops problem solving skills. It also incorporates and is supported by technology.
Course Policies:
a) Attendance: Regular attendance is expected and necessary for success.
b) Homework: On any particular day on which homework is assigned, selected problems from the homework will be collected and graded for a total possible of 5 to 10 points or an in class assignment could be given for the same number of points.

.
Grading Schedule: Exams are administered at intervals representing logical information blocks, quizzes are administered according to perceived class need.
The approximate grading value for each type of assignment is given below:
Homework assignments @ 5-10 pts. each
Exams @ approximately 60 pts. each
Quizzes/Labs @ 5-10 pts. each
.
Course Schedule of Topics:
Functions and their Graphs
Polynomial and Rational Functions
Exponential and Logarithmic Functions
Trigonometry
Analytic Trigonometry
Systems of Equations
Sequences, Series, and Probability
Analytic Geometry
Limits and an Introduction to Calculus
Academic Honesty Statement: I expect and demand high standards of intellectual honesty from my students. Those high standards demand that dishonest work be rejected and that those students engaging in such work bear the consequences, which may include zero credit on assignments.
.
Caveat: The above schedule and procedures in this course are subject to change in the event of extenuating circumstances.
