11 Sperry Band Students Travel to Stillwater for State Ensemble Competition

11 Sperry Band Students Qualify for State Ensemble

Sperry Band is finishing the year with all of the zeal and power that they had at the beginning.  After receiving high marks at competitions throughout the year, several band members have attained the high honor of qualifying for the State Ensemble.  These band members will travel to Stillwater Thursday, April 20th to compete at the State Ensemble Contest on the OSU Campus.  Four groups of Sperry Band students qualified for the State Ensemble. 

Saxophone players Danielle Muir, Kelli Garrison, and Xzavier Ford qualified for the Saxophone Trio.  Clarinetists Josie Mullin, Kelli Garrison, and Seth Anquoe qualified for the Clarinet Trio.  Percussionists Alexis Candy, Alexander Martin, Nathan Weldon, Nathan Torix, Donald Garrison, and Donny Forgione qualified for the Large Percussion Ensemble.  Nathan Weldon, Nathan Torix and Donny Forgione also qualified for the Percussion Trio.

These 11 students qualified for the State Ensemble by receiving a Superior Rating at the OSSAA District contest last March.
