Sperry Board of Education Member Tim Simmons Honored at February Meeting
Dr. Brian Beagles, on behalf of Sperry Public Schools, thanked outgoing board member Tim Simmons for his service to the students and staff of the district since joining the Sperry Board of Education in 2012.
“It has been a pleasure working with Mr. Simmons these past six years,” Dr. Beagles said. “He has displayed positive leadership and sound decision-making skills throughout his tenure and has been an essential part of the board’s effective governance of the district.”
At the February 12th regular meeting of the Sperry Board of Education, Dr. Beagles presented Mr. Simmons with a plaque noting the district’s appreciation for his service.
“It’s been my privilege to have been a Board member,” Mr. Simmons said after receiving the award. “I would like to thank my fellow Board members for allowing me to serve along side them. It’s been an honor to do so, and I thank you very much.”
During the March regular meeting of the Sperry Board of Education, Mrs. Michelle Brown will be sworn in to fill the position vacated by Mr. Simmons.
